Basic AcquisitionS
Overview
This three-day course is designed to provide program and project managers with a comprehensive introduction to -- and understanding of -- the concepts of basic acquisition, including government-wide and agency-specific rules, regulations, and procedures. Attendees gain an understanding of the factors that influence cost, schedule, performance, and the use of market research to define acquisition strategies, including requirements development. Performance-Based Acquisition and fundamental financial principles will also be examined.
The course is taught using a combination of lecture, case studies, and group exercises that will give students an opportunity to discuss and analyze the concepts presented and apply them to their own work environments.
